How Soon Will Verizon Disconnect Service For Non Payment

  1. Exclamation Carrier locked telephone for non-payment?

    Hi all,

I am attempting to help a friend and besides satisfy my curiosity. She has a Samsung "Bluster" through carrier Sprint. She said that afterward her phone was turned off for not-payment, she tin no longer use the phone.

She claims she has been remotely locked out, as if you set a security lock code and forgot information technology, that kind of locked out. She swears the company locked her out to continue her from getting at her contacts.

Is this fifty-fifty possible? I googled and the but thing I can find is blacklisting lock outs using the ESN, which I already realize. But to really lock the hardware remotely, is another thing. I know they can remotely unlock.

What is her best option to recover those important numbers, and do all carriers actively exercise this sort of affair (if it'southward even true?)

    Thanks

  2. Maybe she should pay her pecker...

She tin can nevertheless call 911 from her phone though, and so information technology isn't completely locked out.

  3. Not possible. She forgot the code is all.

My statements and opinions do not reflect those of my employer, AT&T Mobility. This is disclosed per FTC regulation.

ant1pathy, thanks for satisfying my marvel and confirming my suspicion. I did not call back call up such a matter was possible either.

I told her the same thing, over and over again. She swore that was not the case equally she had *never* had a lock code and it did not happen until "later on they shut-off the service to the telephone". I personally find it very hard to swallow which is why I asked. In that location'south been a few times I went over my spending limit w/ Sprint and my service was suspended or any they called information technology, and I didn't go locked out of my phone, nor practice I know anyone else who has always had such a trouble, nor could annihilation exist found in a google search.

Anybody have any suggestions besides what is posted here? I take it from the lack of replies anybody else is in agreement, or is it not unammious that a carrier will not remotely actuate a phone'south security lock-out and not give you lot the countersign?

Is there whatever mode to get the phone unlocked? (which I believe the carrier can practise remotely if you lot call, merely doubt they will do for her since she has not paid her bill [payment is not an option as she has gotten laid off from work since her visitor sent the Manufacturing jobs to India to save coin and unemployment benefits tin take up to 12 weeks. I know from my ain experience with unemployment.])

Thank you anybody for your time and for whatever responses that may come up.

  5. Sprint Tech here...

Registered merely to reply to this..

Your suspicions are confirmed. Your friend is a little misinformed. In that location is no way to lock/unlock your phone remotely. It would exist a serious invasion of privacy and probably grounds for a pretty large lawsuit, if (a) visitor locked out devices which they exercise non ain and are not holding of said visitor anymore, just to prevent the owner of such device'southward retrieval of their own property.

Sounds like she has locked her phone, didn't pay her bill, and is mad at Sprint because they cut off her telephone. Typical gossip common in her "circumvolve". Lol.
